The Simpson Racing family is always active, and this year’s edition of the Simpson Fan Day proved that once again. This annual event brings together fans and noteworthy drivers in a relaxed setting that allows plenty of personal interaction and loads of fun for everyone. Along with the meet-and-greet sessions, attendees enjoyed door prizes and great deals on Simpson merchandise across the entire store.

Fans had the opportunity to talk with drivers and get autographs throughout the day. It’s always a great time for everyone involved, making it one of the must-do events of the year. So, if you missed Simpson Fan Day this year, mark your calendar and be sure to get in on the fun next time!

An Exciting Roster of Drivers to Meet

  • Legendary NASCAR driver Ryan Newman, who has over 730 starts in NASCAR Cup with 18 wins, including the Daytona 500, and over 250 Top 10s.

  • Cole Custer, who drives the No. 00 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He won the 2023 Xfinity Championship and this year’s regular season championship.

  • Carson Kvapil, who drives the No. 8 JR Motorsports Late Model and is a CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car champion.

  • Andrew “Bubba” Pollard is considered one of the most successful active Super Late Model drivers. He drives the No. 26 Ford for his own team and part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports.

  • BJ McLeod owns B J McLeod Motorsports and co-owns Live Fast Motorsports. He also drives part time in NASCAR Cup.

  • Erik Jones is in his eighth full season in the NASCAR Cup Series and fourth driving the iconic No. 43 for Legacy Motor Club. He won the 2022 Southern 500 – the team’s first victory.

  • Brenden “Butterbean” Queen competes in the NASCAR Weekly Series and the CARS Tour, driving the No. 03 car, and part-time in the NASCAR Truck Series, in the No. 1 Toyota.

In their downtime, Newman gave 21-year-old Carson Kvapil some advice on his autographing skills and discussed iconic signatures like Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. “When you sign your name make it so people can read it. Fans are what drive our sport, and if we can make a connection between the fans, sponsors, and us as drivers, they’ll continue to support us. Not just now, but in the future, to keep us doing what we love,” said Newman.

Carson Kvapil, whose dad Travis was Newman’s teammate years prior, said he’s only done a handful of autograph signings thus far in his career. “Not as many as Ryan. Probably only like 25. Obviously, I’m pretty new to this, but it’s enjoyable and nice to talk to the people that support the sport,” said Carson.

Chase Beck, an enthusiastic young fan who was named after the NASCAR Cup “Chase,” came prepared with his autograph book, which he’s had a long list of drivers sign. He’s 15 and has been collecting signatures for a year now. He was also a door-prize winner.

A surprise guest was 13-year-old Brooklyn Newman, Ryan’s daughter, who competes in the Intermediate Division series at Millbridge Speedway. She’s accustomed to following dad to autograph signings. “This is his natural environment, I think he likes this more than being at home with us sometimes,” laughed Brooklyn. And of course, when she’s racing, she’s fitted in a Simpson suit and Stilo helmet.

Toryson Pinion came with his parents, excited to get autographs from his favorite driver, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen. He was also fitted for a Simpson helmet too. Fan Day includes store-only discounts for the day.

Newman is the only driver who owns a gold Daytona 500 trophy, a unique distinction he earned by winning the 50th anniversary running of the event. Bob and Sara Reinhard have had a diecast of the winning car since he won the race in 2008. They had Newman sign it with a gold sharpie to match the look.
